The naked man is working in the field under the sun with a very recognizable Stetson hat. Strangely rugged and masculine image of a man at work in a very ordinary way, sewing seed. Late 19th-century social realism incorporates the classical nude in the action of normal work. Nicely done and understated imagery. Marked to the base with the signature Georg Meyer-Steglitz and the foundry stamped to the side of the base. See less
