Historical Legacy
Founded in 1743 by King Charles VII of Naples and Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony at the Palace of Capodimonte. The queen's grandfather had founded the prestigious Meissen factory, and her dowry included 17 Meissen services. Master craftsmen included Flemish chemist Livio Schepers, painter Giovanni Caselli, and chief modeller Giuseppe Gricci, who by 1755 supervised five artisans creating the distinctive moulds that defined Capodimonte's legendary style.
