A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige From his series "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Fourth Station: Hodogaya. In the title block: "The Bridge of the New Village". A first-class palanquin - Norimono - accompanied by a baggage carrier crosses the bridge to arrive at the station. In the middle of the bridge, a traveler dressed in gray wears a special hat that covers his face.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high-quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: V.
Very good condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed, never framed.
