Crafted in France circa 1900, the decorative artwork is executed in embossed pewter and mounted within its original rectangular wooden frame, finished in a warm, richly patinated walnut tone.

The composition features two dachshunds portrayed from the chest upward, their heads turned in opposite directions. One dog looks attentively to the side, while the other faces forward with an alert yet gentle expression. Their elongated muzzles, expressive eyes, pendant ears, and carefully modeled coats capture the distinctive characteristics of the breed.

Both dogs wear detailed hunting collars joined by a sculpted metal chain, which drapes naturally between their chests. The collars feature raised rings and buckles, while the individual links of the connecting chain add depth and realism to the composition. The finely worked pewter surface displays subtle variations in its silver-gray patina, emphasizing the sculptural contours and intricate detailing.

The rectangular plaque is surrounded by a broad, molded wooden frame with mitered corners and attractive figured grain. Its warm honey-brown finish provides a pleasing contrast to the cool metallic tones of the relief. The reverse is finished with a wooden backing.

The antique canine wall sculpture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its detailed relief, attractive silver finish, and original wood frame.
