A pair of vintage Fire King ivory pressed glass mixing bowl featuring the "swirl" pattern. Marked at the bottom with manufacturer’s logo. Made in the USA. American glass company Anchor Hocking, made these glass items between 1940s to 1970s under the name Fire King to compete with Pyrex glassware. "Glass bakeware designed to withstand high heat on the stovetop and in the oven, which essentially replaced the need for metal pots and pans. Metal that was traditionally used for household items like baking dishes, trays, and utensils was conserved for war efforts. It was desperately needed most for planes, tanks, guns and ships" (source: firekinggrill).
