It features … Read more This high-quality ceramic art vase was created by the famous German ceramist Wendelin Stahl (1922-2000) during the 1960s. It features a beautiful glaze in green and grey as well as brown and black tones.
The ceramic vessels by Wendelin Stahl are among the most prized earthenware works of art of the middle of the 20th century in West Germany.

Represented internationally in art museums with his extraordinary works, he experimented with crystalline glazes in cobalt blue and brown shades to perfect his art. The ceramist was trained in Höhr-Grenzhausen.
In 1952 Wendelin Stahl and the artist Else Harney founded their own studio at the secluded Coraidelstein castel in Klotten on the Moselle river.

Like may other potters in post-war West Germany, harney and Stahl slowly moved away from mass production and began to produce unique pieces, which quickly attracted a great deal of attention from collectors. Both were honored internationally with prizes for their outstanding works. This piece has an attribution mark,
