The glass … Read more Filigrana is a rare antique Murano vase created by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso in the late 1930s. The glass showcases the refined "Filigrana" technique, which consists of white filigrana glass threads and air bubbles at the intersections of the canes. This is one of the most detailed and difficult Murano techniques to realize. On the sides, there are two handles and an attached foot in clear glass with light gold foil fusion (see pictures n°11-12).

Coming from a family of Murano glassmakers, Aureliano Toso founded his own company in 1938. The collaboration with painter and artist Dino Martens already showed its first successes at the XXIII Venice Biennale. Today, the Toso glass company has merged and is known under the prestigious name of "Barovier & Toso."

This piece of art is in perfect condition, and attached you will find proof of its authenticity from papers. The vase was auctioned in 2015 for €2,800. Nowadays, the value of Murano collectible art pieces has substantially grown.
