Rare oversized pottery planter by David Gill for Bennington Pottery. This unusual pot features repeating deep groves which run vertically on the surface, creating a sophisticated architectural modernist effect. This example is in overall very good condition, showing some signs of age and use, specific condition report as follows.
Two minor hairline cracks evident from top edge, minor chip at bottom edge, please see images.
We have had many pieces of David Gil pottery, but have never had, or even ever seen, a piece this monumental in scale, fully and correctly marked on verso.
