I acquired this and other sculptures carved from rose colored cantera stone from the estate of the late Charles Trombold, … Read more I acquired this and other sculptures carved from rose colored cantera stone from the estate of the late Charles Trombold, an archaeologist at Washington University in St. Louis who devoted much of his career to excavations in Guanajuato, Mexico. He commissioned this evocative piece resembling a gargoyle from a local sculptor in Guanajuato. it is dated 1998. with Trumbold's name. I have used it for ornamentation in a garden, so it has a bit of greenish patina. This could be washed off or retained as one chooses. See less
