This tea set in Wedgwood's "Brewster" pattern dates from the 1860's. Brewster is a rare pattern at the best of times, and it's quite unusual to find a complete set in dark blue and such good original condition as this. This particular set was deacessioned by the Society of the Cincinnati. It was imported to Savannah in 1861, by the famous blockade runner, SS Fingal, and later purchased by collector Alida Harper Fowlkes from a sale at the Sorrel-Weed-Cohen House during the 1930s.
