Stunning paperweight designed by Alfredo Barbini and made in the workshop of Barbini (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Made of high quality thick transparent Murano glass with an internal captured bubble. This paperweight is a great example of beautiful minimalist sculptural forms, which made Barbini a renowned creator. Perfect for a modern interior. Great addition to any collection. The paperweight is signed (etched signature).
Diameter: 3.7''; height: 2.5''. Weight: 0.8 kg. Very good vintage condition, no chips, no cracks, some light scratches consistent with age and use. Alfredo Barbini was one of Murano’s leading figures of the 20th century. He was one of a few who embraced minimalism when Murano glass-makers were focused on colorful designs.
