Vibrant abstracted landscape of colorful boats in a Monterey harbor by California artist Virginia Sevier Rogers (American, 1917-2015), 1996. Several boats are in a harbor, depicted in a minimal geometric style, with bright colors. The land and the water a similar shades of blue, creating an expansive space.

Rogers was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. She studied with Hugh Breckenridge at the PAFA in 1934, then earned a B.A. from the University of North Carolina and an M.A. at UC Berkeley.
