Paul Rebeyrolle (1926-2005) was a French painter. As a child he had tuberculosis of the bone, which caused for long periods of immobility. Rebeyrolle constantly asked questions concerning the place of man in society as well as man in nature and as a lover of the earth this commentary influenced much of his work.
This lithograph comes from the long running French Art Magazine "Derriere le Miroir" published from 1946 until 1982 (253 issues). Published and edited by Aime Maeght, the French art dealer featured artists exhibited in his gallery, including: Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, and Vassily Kandinsky.
