With an antique (and possibly ancient) intaglio carved agate or chalcedony bead.

Mounted in a contemporary 14 karat yellow gold frame and fixed bail for use as a pendant in a necklace.

The bead has a rounded back and a flattened front that has a carved intaglio image of a steer or bull in full stride (most likely the Taurus zodiac symbol) with inscribed letters.

The agate bead is opaquely yellow-green with traces of darker coloration on its crown and base. There is noticeable wear at the edge of the flattened face of the bead.

Simply a wonderful pendant!

It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.

Condition Details:
There is wear to the corners of the face and some light nicks dings and indentations throughout. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.

Fineness:
Unmarked for gold fineness. Professionally tests at 14k.
