A painting of a woman riding on a carousel horse while holding out her white handkerchief to flow in the wind.
This piece is reminiscent of a weekend at the fair or carnival, you can see a glimpse of the event in the beyond the carousel.
Waving a white handkerchief in the wind has a lot of symbolism dating as far back as the 18th century, but I like to imagine this is a representation of carefree adolescent freedom.
The painting uses realistic and soft colors, adding to the dream-like narrative.
Artist is unknown, painting is unframed.
