The panel on the front is heavily decorated with inlaid patterns of lighter woods and gives the chest a sophisticated feeling. The chest has three long drawers and two short drawers on the top, all with cock beading. The corners have a column of mahogany wood turnings resting on a squared corner with an inlayed different wood panel. The chest has a shaped apron and rests on splay feet. The brass handles are replacements as this period of chest would have had wood knobs. The chest is unusually large scale for a country chest with this much sophistication and decorative inlay.
