This is one of a small grouping of French Art Deco hair design prints we recently purchased in Paris. It was originally a supplement to “La Coiffure Française Illustré, a French periodical of hairstyles that was published monthly. This image dates to July 1937. It is in pristine condition with good color tones of golds, greens and orange. Illustrated and signed by René Rambaud. Rambaud (1887-1967) was an avant-garde hairdresser of his time. He had his professional salon on the esteemed rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. Today the René Rambaud Lycée (High School) of Hairdressing offers the prestigious CAP Coiffure, Certificate d’Aptitude Prossionnelle. This image has strong graphic Art Deco styling; it feature 3 fashionistas with hairstyles with sculptured curls, hair jewels all in profile poses. The women are coiffed and ready for an elegant special event. The image is chic, dramatic, exotic and unique. Done in rare horiontal format. Perfect gift idea!
