Signed lower left, 'Denis Paul Noyer' (French, b. 1940) and created circa 1975.
A finely-detailed, silver point and colored pencil drawing showing a view of a Parisian apartment courtyard with a young girl standing, lower right, pendant to the image. One of the finest and most fully realized drawings created by an artist better known for his stylized oil paintings.
Born in Paris in 1940, Denis Paul Noyer first studied with his father, the artist Philippe Noyer, and, subsequently, at the Lycée Janson de Sailly and the Academie des Beaux Arts de Troyes. He later studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon.
Since his first American exhibit at the Acosta Gallery, Beverly Hills, California, in 1964, Noyer’s work has been shown in Paris, Florence, Rome, Stockholm, New York, Denver, Palm Beach, Las Vegas, and Chicago. The artist and his wife, Rafaela, live in Paris, where Noyer continues to work at his rooftop atelier overlooking the city.
