Signed, lower right, "Fies" for Gladys Louise Bowman Fies, (American, 1909-2005) and painted circa 1965.
A loosely-painted, Impressionist style still-life of peach and coral Alstromeria shown informally arranged in a ceramic jug.
Gladys Fies was born in Texas and, after moving to California, she studied with Millard Sheets, Rex Brandt, and George Post among others. A lifetime member of the Society of Watercolor Artists, she exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous medals, prizes and juried awards.
