A wonderful pair of period Regency mahogany bed steps with beautiful warm patina. Handcrafted in England during the early 19th century, featuring an extending lower step with inset tooled leather panel that can slide into and out of the serpentine shaped front case, having a hinged top with inset gilt-tooled distressed leather panel, opening to large interior storage compartment, rising on turned legs. Circa 1820, England.
These antique bedsteps can be used a variety of ways, including as a bedside cabinet nightstand, side or end table, lamp stand, small storage cupboard or chest, bedside as a pet stair ramp so dog or cat can get into bed, stepping stool or as wonderful unique decor.
The handsome library bed steps are full of character and charm, sure to bring a touch of warmth and sophisticated elegance to any room.
