This vintage oil portrait is hand painted on a brass dish plate decorated with an embellished border. It is a skillful copy of the original Portrait of Goya by Francisco Vicente López Portaña, c.  1826, which is found in the Museo del Prado, Madrid. This painting, as the original, is a dignified portrait of Spain's finest painter of the age.

The brass dish plate sits on three ball feet and includes a brief description from an early newspaper clip on the verso. This unsigned, fine work, after Portana, features Goya with prepared palette and brushes at hand.

Condition: Good. Mild wear due to age and use.
