Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 31, 1941, to Italian parents, Luongo's goal was to follow in his father's footsteps to become a professional soccer player. This ambition having been realized, was short lived due to an injury. Fortunately, at the age of 14 Luongo had entered The Academy Of Fine Arts and subsequently received his degree. Luongo began to paint professionally at the age of 27 while on a trip to Italy, creating 30 originals later displayed in his first one-man show in Los Angeles. Luongo's paintings are a unique blend of the sensual with the cerebral, and an amazing ability to convey a sense of movement and emotion in his work. See less
