This Vintage Turkish Tulu Rug is handwoven with Angora wool on a wool kilim foundation in the Konya region of Central Turkey. The size is 3'5" x 5'8". Tulu, which loosely translates as "Hairy", is a type of rug that is hand knotted with lustrous and soft Angora hair on handwoven wool kilims. It has a rich history as nomadic tribes in central Asia used Tulus as blankets to keep warm during the harsh winters of the Anatolian plateau. Today, these tribal works of art are known for their bold geometric designs and saturated colors, making them a popular choice for interior decor.
