Elegant black lacquer and brushed brass Empire style console table by Mastercraft. Finished on all four sides with brass welt details on all sides of the tapered legs. Brass welt filigree and "eyes" are only to the front.
This piece was purchased by a Grand Rapids executive at a Baker factory sale, and then stored it. Baker would periodically sell Baker and Mastercraft one-offs or display pieces brought back from their showrooms. It may well be a prototype for a design never put into production, as we have been unable to find another like it.
