Finnish architect and designer Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto designed bentwood side table #915 in 1932 for use in the Paimio Sanatorium, a medical facility in Finland dedicated to treating tuberculosis patients. This table is made of birch lamella and plywood, and is a forerunner of midcentury modern design. It is unmarked.
This Alvar Aalto bentwood side table is in good structural condition with wear to the surface. There is loss to the finish along the bottom stretchers and in several other places. Please see photographs.
