Greco Greek Roman Style God & Goddess Miniature Amphoras
These rare in size, miniature (about 4.5-5 inches tall) amphoras.
One has a male with a laurel crown that may very well be Julius Cesar. The wearing of laurels on the head was used to show importance and Godly status.
The other has a female also wearing a laurel crown with a hair bun, she may be representing Daphne, whose father turned into a laurel tree & thus was a tree spirit or Nike, the Goddess of Victory.
Laurel crowns were very much used as symbols of Triumph by the Romans whom very much admired the Greeks.
Beautiful pieces! Made of a clay like material.
