Impressive Sheffield (USA) silver plate water pitcher and stand in Victorian/Aesthetic style, believed to date to the 1890s. Two knobs in either side rest gently in the stand to support the weight when full of water. A concave stand bottom catches condensation while at the table. The surface of the pitcher is etched with a swirling leaf design, and sculpted roses adorn the spout. The stand has beautiful, early Art Nouveau-influenced vines. The cup stand is still attached to the base, but no cup has survived intact. A stunning addition to your sideboard, table or dining room.
The base stands 19 1/2" to the flourished top. The concave base itself measures 9" across, and the cup holder adds 1 1/2" to that length.
The pitcher stands 12 5/8" tall and from handle to spout 9 1/2" with a base measuring 6 5/8" across.
