So here's what we are looking at: An Art Deco period piece of solid metal (bronze most likely) bird, used … Read more So here's what we are looking at: An Art Deco period piece of solid metal (bronze most likely) bird, used as a shooting target—you can see marks of shots near the head, on the side facing left. The body of the bird is the original antique part. The base and screw-rod have been added later; though not the screw-in portion in the body of the bird; that's original. So the bird originally did screw onto something, but to what exactly is the mystery. Whether this was originally intended as a shooting target is another question mark.

Whatever the case may be, the quality of the workmanship, metal, finish, and design is exquisite—this is a high end production.

Also, where it came from is another question mark. Is it French, where the Art Deco was first developed, or American, or another place?!?! We are learning towards France as it has the French sensibility, but we can't confirm at this moment of time.
