A refined midcentury chilled butter dish by Mappin & Webb, crafted in the 1940s for luxury dining aboard the P&O steamship line. Sleek, streamlined, and subtly Art Deco in character, it features scalloped side handles and a removable glass insert — designed so crushed ice below kept butter perfectly cool throughout service. A wonderful piece of maritime tableware from one of Britain’s most esteemed silversmiths. Fully marked underside.
