Antique 18th century French Louis XVI / Neoclassical painted boudoir hand fan. White sticks pierced with foliate / floral designs as well as trumpets and sheets of music; gilded accents. Silk fan surface hand painted with a beige and purple back drop scattered with swags of white roses between panels sporting neoclassical motifs of a helmet, a vase, and a young female figure driving Hera's chariot pulled by peacocks, pursued by a young male figure playing a lyre. The design is accented with sparkling gold sequins. Set on red cloth in a shadowbox with a foliate and beaded carved giltwood frame, topped with a bow and roses.
