Hand-crafted in Indonesia in the early 20th century, likely the island of Madura or Java, this distinctive chest features a rectangular planked top with molded edge, over a conforming solid wood case with visible joinery, fitted with three drawers, each decorated in intricate hand-carved floral motif highlighted with red lacquer, rising on a curvacious scalloped base with ornate relief carvings to the front and sides.
