The … Read more This pair of folio size quadrichrome photographic prints depict tapestries designed by the world famous modern artist Joan Miro. The weaving was done by Josep Royo. These photos were executed by Graphic Panther for the well known 20th century art journal Derriere Le Miroir. Miro (Spain, France 1893-1983) was one of the world's great modernists. The images are from the un-numbered 1973 ltd. edition. The image identifying the art journal Derriere Le Miroir simply verifies where the image came from and can be printed out if the buyer so desires. The colors depicted are true. Dimensions: 11" x 15" each.

Derrière le Miroir (DLM) was an art magazine published between 1946 and 1982 by the French publisher and gallery owner Aimé Maeght of Galerie Maeght, which for many years was the most important gallery in the world for contemporary art. There were a total of 253 editions in 200 volumes. The magazine, itself designed as an art object presented in a large (22” x 15”) format, is illustrated with original lithographs as well as a number of reproductions. Poets and writers like Aragon, Beckett, Char, Eluard, Prévert, Queneau, Reverdy, Sartre, contributed with unpublished texts. Most of the major artists of the second half of the twentieth century created lithographs for DLM: Léger, Miro, Calder, Tapies, Chillida, Braque, Matisse, Giacometti, and Chagall.
