Exceptional mid-20th-century Moroccan Zemmour Hanbel runner, handwoven by Berber artisans circa 1960s. Measuring an impressive 60 inches wide by 160 inches long—5 feet by 13 feet 4 inches—this long vintage Moroccan runner combines the graphic presence of tribal textile art with the refined detail of a finely woven kilim.

The wool-and-cotton flatweave is densely decorated with concentric diamond medallions, lozenges, chevrons, latticework borders and small abstract Amazigh motifs. Fine supplementary-weft embroidery creates subtle texture across the surface, while scattered metallic sequins catch and reflect the light.

Its naturally faded palette combines warm ivory, dark brown, brick red, dusty rose, muted green, turquoise blue and small multicolored accents. The long geometric composition has a distinctly modernist quality, allowing this vintage Moroccan Berber rug to work beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

With its generous proportions, the Zemmour runner would make a dramatic statement in a long hallway, gallery, entry, library or large living space. It may also be displayed vertically as an important piece of North African woven wall art.
