This antique dog sculpture paperweight was created in France, circa 1880. Standing on an oval grey and white marble base with bottom felt, the sculpture features a hunt dog resting on rocky ground in the manner of Thomas Cartier or Christophe Fratin. The artist conveys action and energy through the shape, movement and texture of the dog figure. The desk accessory is in excellent condition with wonderful details and a rich patinated finish.
