Large facet cut glass vase from the island of Murano, Italy. Estimated to be from the 1960s.
This unusually large Murano vase is cut in a geometrical shape that is typical of vases from the island. It features the technique called ‘sommerso’, which means submerged in Italian. with this technique contrasting colour layers could be used in one piece without them mixing together, and to create the effect that this vase has. The vase has a bright, blood red middle section surrounded with soft lime green and blue layers.
The vase is in very good condition. It has a few marks on the surface, please see the photos for this. Singular dice for scale. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
