These crystal glasses were produced by Denmark's pre-eminent glassmakers and came to be named the “Princess” series. They were wildly popular for their classic modern shape and for the remarkable trapped bubble of air inside the stem, known as the teardrop. Although this design has often been imitated – with many knock-offs – no glassmaker has managed to get the teardrop in the stem precisely as Holmegaard has done. The finely blown crystal features elongated bowls seated upon conical stems. This series continues to be popular today, both in Denmark, where mid-century simplicity is king, and around the world. Extra pieces can be found on Chairish and on other sites that sell replacements. Champagne flutes are the rarest and most sought after in the Princess series. The flutes measure 8.5 inches tall. The bowls are 2.25 inches in diameter. This set of five glasses is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, or cloudiness. The price is for the set of five.
