Etching reproduction of 12th century clothing and costumes. Title reads: "Costumes et ornemens du XIIe. siècle, extraits de plusieurs bibles" (Costumes and ornaments of the 12th century, excerpts from several Bibles).
This print is part of a larger book by the artist Nicolas Xavier Willemin (1763-1833), titled Monuments français inédits pour servir à l'histoire des arts depuis le VIe siècle jusqu'au commencement du XVIIe, published in 1839.
I have several of these beautiful etchings listed and these would make a stunning wall display grouping.
