This high-quality studio ceramic art vase was created by the german ceramist josef höhler (1909-1964) in friedrichroda, gotha which is located in the thuringia region of east germany. Josef höhler had his own studio in the gdr, which was later transferred to a veb (volkseigner betrieb) kkf (künstler keramik friedrichroda) by the states. The vase features a special black-silver oxide glaze. Even as an artist in the gdr his work was still characterized by the bauhaus tradition. This piece has an attribution mark,
