Antique Persian Sarab Runner. Displaying primitive charm and nomadic tribal style, this Antique Persian Sarab runner is a breathtaking example of Persian weaving. It features a pole medallion with seven latch-hook medallions in alternating colors patterned inside with rectilinear motifs and dotted with stylized floral and rhomboid leaf motifs at intervals. The pole medallion is anchored with horizontal dual arrow tips at either end. It is enclosed with a Caucasian influenced triple border. Up close the detail is incredibly intricate, and from a distance the curving forms create a highly desirable silhouette.
Antique Sarab runners are prized for their warm color combinations and soothing forms. There is something mystical about the design which is beguilingly straightforward in orientation. Rendered in variegated shades of tan, ecru, beige, brick red, rust, clay pot, terra cotta, navy blue, cerulean, royal blue, scarlet, crimson, coffee, charcoal, wine, maroon, and oxblood with other accent colors. Perfect for an extra-long hallway, entry, Galley kitchen, corridor, state room, great room, office, library, dining room, living room, grand foyer and long entryway.
