After receiving a B.F.A from Yale University, Michael Mazur began his art career which spanned five decades, including numerous solo shows, exhibitions at the Whitney, MOMA, The Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He recieved numerous awards, including from the Guggenheim Foundation.
