This charming shoe shaped snuff box is a rare antique find and made in the Belgian city of GENT. The name is carved into the top of the shoe shape with other nicely engraved and carved patterned elements. Flowers and decorative stitches mark the top, front and sides. One nail acts as hinge to the lid that swivels to reveal the carved interior and shuts, fitting the opening securely. The shoe has a nice patina. Mild wear due to age and use.
