A stunning 19th-century Doccia porcelain cup and saucer, featuring richly detailed mythological decoration and marked with a gilt crowned "N." This rare piece showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the Doccia Porcelain Factory (later Richard Ginori), one of Italy’s most esteemed porcelain manufacturers.
The cup is beautifully decorated with a relief scene of Neptune with sea horses amid waves, accompanied by an obelisk and classical figures. The handle is uniquely shaped like two intertwined twigs branching into delicate leaves. The saucer complements the cup with alternating festoon and shield motifs in raised relief.
Similar examples are held in the British Museum and dated circa 1870–1880.
A refined collector's item or a distinctive gift for any lover of fine porcelain and mythological art.
Measurements: cup: 2 15/16" diameter not including handle; saucer: 4 3/4" diameter approximately
