This fresh-looking summer-weight quilt, with its beautiful quilt pattern and elaborate hand stitching, was discovered in Marin County, CA. It was lovingly hand-stitched and meticulously quilted with a leafy mattelasse pattern overall, mostly white with solid peach and a yellow ditsy print. It has been carefully stored, and faint pencil guide marks remain. The fabrics appear to be from the 1930s or 40s.

This comes from the archives of Deirdre Coughlin, founder of Phoebe’s Closet. She specializes in antique textiles and sold them to many New York City Designers including Ralph Lauren (that’s how I know her,) Charlotte Moss, Martha Stewart, and Schumacher, among many others.
