Chinese porcelain De Hua Kuan Yin, a finely carved, seated Kuan yin, displaying the ushnisha, the urna and long earlobes, … Read more Chinese porcelain De Hua Kuan Yin, a finely carved, seated Kuan yin, displaying the ushnisha, the urna and long earlobes, clothed in flowing robes with cinctures, a necklace, earrings, arm and wrist bracelets and wearing the crown of Amitabha. Seated in raja lalitasana on a giant clamshell supported by ocean waves, with her left foot on one of several lotus pads floating below her throne. Kuan Yin is surrounded by a mandorla of a giant lotus leaf with two buds at the top and one below. Her left hand holds a lotus bud sceptre. Finely detailed down to the fingernails. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand has six denglong dragonhead feet, and is included. Chaozong and DeHua marks are carved at the bottom back of the mandorla. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century. Earlier mounting holes atop and repairs underneath the stand are seen, the Kuan Yin is in excellent vintage condition.
