We are captivated by the colors and patterns in this tin glazed majolica cache pot or planter. In one side, we see a warrior scene and in other places we see musical motifs and cherubs…. Quite a juxtaposition.
An appraiser has viewed this and suggested that it is from the 19th century. We have no other provenance as there are no marks other than composition and condition. It was most probably made in Italy judging from the Roman scene.
This piece is beautiful for any living space and can still function as a planter… indoor only please.
