One of the hunting dogs has already taken up the scent and drives the hunt up the slope. On horseback, the others follow cantering. An elegant lady, sitting in side-saddle, also joins the manorial amusement. Franz hagenauer designed this large hunting scene with great vividness and loving attention to detail in 1937. Werkstatte hagenauer manufactured the equestrian sculpture later in the 1950s. Elegant and playful at the same time are the animals, while the rising wooden plinth gives the par force hunt additional dynamism. As usual, the figures in cast and patinated brass are of very high quality. Marked with the large “whw” in the circle and “hagenauer/wien” comp.
