This vintagel signed (chop mark on lower left) Japanese lithograph by Saburo Matsukata depicts a rock garden in Japan. They were published in Japan by Kyoto News in 1964 (the first year the Olympics were held in Japan). Great color and composition. Crisp, detailed image. Presented in a passepartout (paper mat). Dimensions: 15.25" x 13.5" (Mat); 13.25" x 8.25" (sight).

The Japanese dry garden or Japanese rock garden, often called a Zen garden, is a distinctive style of Japanese garden.
