kovona was founded in 1913 by petr vichr. At the beginning of 1914, the business started importing and installating energy and machinery equipment. At the end of 1914, the production of small household appliances began - shovels, hangers, lids, but also metal furniture. Later, more expensive goods were produced such as chrome furniture, home furniture with wooden accessories, lacquered hospital and school furniture, kitchen scales and later office furniture.

in 1938, the company was retroactively transformed into a joint-stock company. In 1946, the company was nationalized and the national company kovona was formed.

at present, kovona as is the largest manufacturer of metal furniture in the czech republic. They design, manufacture and sell a wide range of products for locker rooms, offices, warehouses and workshop operations.
