This antique Chinese 19th Century Peking glass vase is a stunning piece that will add a touch of elegance to any collection. The large vase features a beautiful vivid golden yellow color and is made of high-quality Peking glass. It has a dramatic baluster form with a flared neck & rounded foot. The top rim ring of vase displays how many layers of glass it took to create the magnificent vase. Peking glass or overlay glass is a traditional technique produced through a unique process of combining hand blowing, carving, and dipping to produce the final form. Vessels are hand blown to the desired shape, carved, then dipped into molten glass, each layer added after the previous one has cooled. This can be seen by looking at the rings around the top rim of the vase.
