George Kovacs (1926-1907), a designer, manufacturer and importer of innovative lighting fixtures opened the first of a succession of three stores on the Upper East Side of NYC in 1954. In addition, he marketed the products of acclaimed designer Robert Sonnenman.
The lamp features an aluminum and steel construction with white tone polishs to a metal finish. The bottom light has a grated shade on top with a frosted dome shade in the bottom and is suspended by a cable with a steel top plate. Top height can be customized. Purchased from the 330 East 59th Street Store in 1993. The 1993/1994 George Kovacs Lighting Catalogue is included in the total price and the lamp can be found pictured on Page 25.
